“The ME EP,” available starting Feb 7th, contains 2 songs: Me, and (Shadow) Part of Me. The Jungian concept of the shadow self represents all the parts of you that you dislike, avoid, or deny. Our ability to love our neighbor is negatively affected by our unwillingness to love every part of ourselves. This difficult and deep work is part of our task in the first half of life. These songs are indie bedroom pop love songs to my shadow and true self. My deepest desire is to inspire others in their journey of love and acceptance of themselves, which leads to greater love, acceptance, and service of others. Click here for The ME EP. The lyrics from ‘Directionless Boat’ come directly out of Kyle’s father’s journal as he describes the grief of losing his wife of 40 years. The imagery describes being in a boat with no anchor or steering, tossed by the currents and winds, and helps define the grieving process. “Directionless Boat” will be available to stream on the eve of the longest night of the year, a time often set aside to grieve and mourn the losses that come with being alive. Full Length Album: “Acceptance”
Kyle’s highly anticipated sophomore full-length album, “Acceptance,” which began with singles, “Gardens,” “Autumn Song,” “Perfectly Imperfect,” and “The Question” is now streaming. With intimate warmth in Kyle’s writing, vocals, and minimalist instrumentation, this album leans further into the modern indie folk singer/songwriter genre similar to artists Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver, and Iron & Wine. Key themes mirror personal and vocational shifts in Kyle’s life as he transitions from full-time church work into the field of social work and mental health counseling. Keep up with upcoming releases by following Kyle on Spotify and Instagram. Check out the full album below:
The 13th chapter of 1 Corinthians is known as the “love chapter” in the Bible. “13” the album is a musical love chapter from the life of Kyle Sigmon and includes his most personal songs yet. These 13 songs that focus on love came out on the 13th year of his wedding anniversary and include his wedding song, many love songs written to his wife, songs written for his children, and generally songs that inspire others to live a life of love in order to make the world a better place. Love is multi-faceted and always invites us to learn and grow more. In an upbeat, indie-rock vibe, Kyle admits that he is “Still Figuring it Out” and invites listeners into their own journey to grow in love to make a “Positive Change.” Hear the album HERE.
